Disney, US Department of Energy and Ad Council Involve Kids in Saving Energy!

That’s right the US Department of Energy and the Ad Council have enlisted the help of America’s favorite fairy, Tinkerbell, to help children understand more about saving energy. Energy consumption has increased tremendously over the years with the latest technological advances. In our household we unplug anything that we are not using such as our microwave, coffee pot, toaster, lamps, and so on. We turn all of our lights off at night except one at night and we don’t charge our electric toys and gadgets unless we are going to use them. Lights are off in every room that are not being used as well as during the day, the children’s lights remain off and the windows are open. What are things that you are doing to preserve energy consumption?

A is Attitude, What is your financial attitude?

This was supposed to be posted on Wednesday for ABC’s of Large Family Finances! Enjoy

ATTITUDE is EVERYTHING when it comes to your financial status and life. Many people don’t realize that their financial attitude has everything to do with their financial status. I have talked with so many people who are just completely negative about their personal and/or business financial status. Not many people are completely debit free including house, cars, medical and such these days. But, does that mean that we have to complain about it. And of course thanks to the media and the government we are in a “Recession”, or what I refer to as a panic, media hype, and such.

Susanna and I are proud that we owe nothing on either of our vehicles; however, we also don’t drive newer, luxurious vehicles. I personally like our older vehicles because they are more sturdier than the plastic ones that they make nowadays. LIFE IS GREAT, but back to what I am talking about.

We do have medical investments that we are paying on, credit cards, and other such investments. Yes, I called them investments. The “B” word is not allowed in our house because it comes with a negative connotation. That’s right I said there is no such word as “Bills” allowed in our house. Now look what you made me do, that’s $100 in the bad word jar. Now with that $100 my wife gets to go blow it on something non-practical and useful like scrapbooking materials.

Attitude is everything! If you owe some company some where it is because you made an INVESTMENT in their services or products.  Therefore you need to do whatever you can to pay them. See if you can barter some sort of services to get it paid for or pay them a little amount each week, biweekly or monthly. Just pay them somehow. You INVESTED in them.

Attitude is everything! Have a great attitude and you will have a great financial situation. It may take time but it will happen. Your assignment is to start changing your vocabulary, and start using the word INVESTMENTS when discussing your financial status. Don’t use that ugly “B” word. You thought I was going to say it, didn’t you?
